CBC Masterplan

In late 2019 Kennedy Nolan where engage to develop a masterplan for the on-going sustainable development of the CBC St Kilda and PCW campuses as a single combined Catholic secondary school offering either single sex or co-education.  The work includes urban design, campus planning, restoration and optimisation of heritage fabric, renovation and new buildings.  All the work is undertaken with close consideration of the values and aspirations of the school both educationally and culturally.

Instigating this review was the PCW's announcement in June 2019 that it would shut its doors at the end of the 2020 school year due to declining enrolment numbers.  In August EREA announced that it would offer PCW students of all year levels an education from 2021 and ongoing.  CBC has historically been the brother school to PCW.

The staged masterplan seeks to resolve non-compliance and safety issues, modernise teaching and learning facilities, address maintenance concerns and improve the public presentation of both campuses.  The masterplan also explores opportunities to develop an Innovation Centre with a strong emphasis on showcasing vocational pathways and skills training, and a Sports Academy that supports an integrated academic and sporting program.
